Studio City Private Residence

Originally limited on useable space for gathering and lounging, this hillside property was re-envisioned to create a series of outdoor rooms—the kitchen, the pool deck, the upper lounge, and the play area. A new retaining wall allowed for a large flexible area at the pool level, and a fireplace built into the wall was located on axis with the home’s living room, serving as a beautiful focal point. Painted brick and wall cladding soften the appearance of the large wall, and concrete steps and countertops infuse a modern simplicity into the landscape.
