This modern Mediterranean home cantilevers over a protected hillside, facing south, with the treetops of Bel-Air in the foreground and ocean views on a clear day. The pool and spa went through a complete remodel that relocated the spa into the already large pool to save space and to provide better views. Handmade Zelige tile now adorns a taller planter wall on one side of the pool, and the pool finish was selected to match that tile. What was once a suffering lawn with an overgrown Carrotwood tree is now a fire lounge with shade structure above, decorative gravel below, and succulents sprinkled within. A beautiful Ipe wood deck with cable railing provides a light and airy space for dining and entertainment. A true chef’s outdoor kitchen with black quartzite countertops doubles as a counter height bar and additional dining. All planting is drought-tolerant and low maintenance.
