Segal Shuart revamped this formerly dated and overgrown property to suit the needs of its new owners, a couple from Europe with two teenage daughters. An entry court was re-designed to provide better flow for both the family and their guests. A new exposed aggregate driveway includes permeable gaps and is surrounded by water-wise planting and existing trees that were protected in place. Gates, lighting, and new stone walkways elevated the sense of privacy and elegance. A fountain, evoking one familiar to them from back home, helps to create a classic entry court feel. The back garden received a complete makeover with a new, contemporary pool and spa with bubbling water feature, bench seating, and a motorized, hidden-edge pool cover. A covered outdoor cabana fully equipped with kitchen, bar, fireplace, tv and lounge was built with vaulted ceilings and recessed lighting. The space is a true an entertainer’s dream and where the family loves to be when in the garden. The limestone terrace has a dining area, fire lounge, and pool lounge spaced out to be enjoyed at various times of day. Landscape lighting is dimmable and operable as part of their Savant home control system.
